Meng Ting-li donates organs after death

11 Feb - Although her death might have been sudden, Taiwanese actress Meng Ting-li will still be able to save lives through her organ donations.

As reported on Epoch Times, the 50-year-old actress, who passed away last week ten days after she was hospitalised, has donated her heart, pancreas, liver, two kidneys, and her corneas - which will be benefiting eight recipients.

The announcement was made by her family members and attending physicians of the Taipei Veterans General Hospital on 7 February.

Meng was previously hospitalised on 26 January after she was down with influenza while filming the upcoming drama, "Fighting Meiling".

According to sources, the actress was shooting a scene in the rain while suffering from flu when she passed out, prompting the crew to give her a CPR and rush her to the hospital.

Her condition was later complicated by pneumonia, and severe brain hypoxia resulted in a coma, before the doctors announced that she has passed away ten days after her hospitalisation.

Although she was pronounced dead due to a severe brain failure, the doctor did not exclude the possibility of her condition to be caused by overwork, since Meng was also filming another drama, FTV's "Dowry", at the same time.
