‘How I Met Your Mother’ actor arrested for stabbing makeup artist ex-girlfriend

An actor who appeared on shows like “How I Met Your Mother” and “America’s Most Wanted” was arrested near the U.S.-Mexico border and charged in the brutal stabbing of Hollywood makeup artist Allie Shehorn, who is also his ex-girlfriend.

Nick Pasqual was seemingly attempting to flee the country when he was apprehended on Wednesday at a border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas, according to a press release from the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. He’s slated to be extradited to Los Angeles where he will face counts including attempted murder; first-degree residential burglary with person present; and injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend or child’s parent.

Pasqual is accused of breaking into Shehorn’s Los Angeles home in the Shadow Hills neighborhood early the morning of May 24 and violently attacking her. Police said he stabbed the makeup artist more than 20 times, inflicting “great bodily injury upon the victim under circumstances involving domestic violence,” and then fled the scene.

Sherhorn, who had recently filed a restraining order against 34-year-old Pasqual, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. She underwent a series of surgeries and, despite the gravity of her wounds, has made “positive steps” toward recovery, according to a GoFundMe page set up to help with medical bills and any other additional needs.

Sherhorn has done makeup for hit television shows and movies including “Babylon,” “Mean Girls,” and “Rebel Moon: Part 1,” where she met Pasqual, the Los Angeles Times reported.

If convicted, Pasqual faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

“My thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with the victim in this horrific incident,” Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said. “Our office, including our Bureau of Victim Services, extends our support and resources to her as she embarks on the long and difficult journey of healing from both the physical and emotional trauma inflicted upon her.”
