Miami Dolphins Tyreek Hill Sued by Influencer Claiming He Broke Her Leg During a Training Session

A social media influencer has filed a lawsuit against Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, alleging the athlete “violently” tackled her and fractured her leg last summer during a training session at his south Florida home, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Sophie E. Hall filed the lawsuit in Broward County, Florida, circuit court on Saturday through her attorney Jonathan R. Gdanski. She is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages, according to the docs.

Per the complaint, Hill, 29, contacted Hall shortly after she enrolled her 10-year-old son in the athlete’s Tyreek Hill Football Camp held at Boca Raton High School last June. The two did not know one another at the time.

Hall claimed that Hill initiated contact with the British-born influencer — who has 2.1 million followers on Instagram — by sending her a direct message, and in a “flirtatious and playful manner” allegedly asked her about being 6 feet, 1 inch tall.

“Lol you’ll see,” Hall wrote in the message, which was included in the court documents. Hill replied, “How will I see,” He added, “You must gone teleport to me.”

The mother then responded, “Yesterday I literally just paid for your camp for my son and now you’re here.”

“We lit then Ima see you towering over everyone I guess,” Hill wrote back, and then added, “I’ve been know [sic] to be a good stepdad.”

According to the court documents, Hill invited the influencer to his home in Southwest Ranches after her son attended his camp. Then, later that month, he allegedly paid for the woman to fly back to Florida to stay at his estate.

Per the lawsuit, Hill had a driver pick Hall up at the airport on June 28, and then she spent time with his family members after arriving at the $7 million home and finding out that Hill had to “step out for several hours.”

After Hill returned, the two visited the turf field at his home with his trainer, while Hall watched along the sidelines, per the documents, which then stated that “it was shortly after this training session when Defendant Hill invited Ms. Hall to participate in offensive line drills with him.”

“On their very first ‘play,’ Defendant Hill asked Ms. Hall to stand in a defensive line stance while he stood opposite her in an offensive lineman stance, ‘hiked’ the ball to the quarterback, and told her to rush him as if she wanted to chase the quarterback,” the complaint alleged.

“Ms. Hall did as instructed and on contact with the Defendant, caused Hill to be pushed backwards, garnering laughter from the witnesses present at the time, including the Defendant’s mother, sister, friend and trainer,” the document continued.

According to the lawsuit, Hill became “apparently embarrassed,” and his “attitude changed and he became angry.” After the two continued to play, “Defendant Hill charged into her violently and with great force, resulting in significant and severe injuries.”

“The crushing force was so great that she sustained a right leg fracture, necessitating surgery, with metal hardware implantation,” the documents claimed.

It is unknown if Hall reported the incident to authorities. But according to the complaint, Hill “downplayed” her injury and did not seek medical attention on her behalf. Upon returning to her home on July 1, Hall said she consulted an orthopedist and was diagnosed with a right leg fracture.

Hall's attorney Gdanski tells PEOPLE that his client's "complaint speaks for itself." Gdanski says, "It is unfortunate that this significant matter had to proceed to the point of filing a lawsuit seeking a trial by jury."

Neither Hill's agent nor the Miami Dolphins immediately responded to PEOPLE's request for comment.

The lawsuit comes amid a tumultuous year for the wide receiver. Last month, Hill denied that he filed for divorce from his wife, Keeta Vaccaro, whom he married in November, despite court documents that show he did so.

Then, on Jan. 3, a fire destroyed most of the $6.9 million home where the alleged incident with Hall occurred. Authorities later determined that a child who was playing with a cigarette lighter inside the house had started the blaze.
