Michael Mosley: Paramount’s Channel 5 Faces Dilemma Over Airing Presenter’s ‘Wonders Of The Human Body’ Series

Channel 5, the British broadcaster owned by Paramount, must decide whether to air what will likely be Michael Mosley’s final TV series before his untimely death.

Deadline understands that Mosley filmed Wonders of the Human Body for Channel 5 and the three-part series is all but complete.

A Paramount source said it was too early to say whether the Storyboard Studios-produced show will broadcast following Mosley’s death being confirmed on Sunday.

The television and podcast presenter was holidaying on the Greek island of Symi when he collapsed and died. His body was discovered after he went missing on Wednesday.

An initial post-mortem examination concluded that Mosley died of natural causes and found no injuries on his body, according to the BBC.

Mosley set out to explore how the human body works in Wonders of the Human Body, during which he tested scientific breakthroughs including a new scan that promises to predict a heart attack.

In a statement on LinkedIn, Storyboard founder Natalie Humphreys paid tribute to Mosley and said her “deepest sympathies” go out to his family.

“Many of us had the joyful experience of working with Michael regularly over the years and we recently finished collaborating on a new series together. The whole team is heartbroken,” Humphreys said.

“Michael helped so many people around the world through his content and even people who had not met him in person were able to feel a keen connection with him. That’s his incredible impact. We are struggling for the right words to express how big a hole he leaves. We miss you Michael.”

Paramount declined to comment.
