Michelle Yeoh "heartbroken" over Netflix cancelling The Brothers Sun
Michelle Yeoh has admitted she is "heartbroken" over the cancellation of her Netflix series The Brothers Sun.
The eight-part crime drama debuted back in January, though over the weekend it emerged that the streamer would not be moving forward with a second season.
Taking to her Instagram page, Oscar-winner Yeoh shared a series of photos from the show's promo tour, admitting she found it "hard to understand why" it had been axed.

"Heartbroken… and finding it so hard to understand why… however, I am so very proud of My Brothers Sun family and what we presented to the world," she wrote. "Heads held high."
The Brothers Sun follows a Taiwanese mobster called Charles Sun (Justin Chien) who travels to Los Angeles after his father is assassinated in order to protect his mother (Yeoh) and younger brother (Sam Song Li).
Chien has also reacted to the cancellation news, writing on Instagram: "To all the fans of The Brothers Sun, Thank you for riding with us on this labor of love. It will take some time to digest this news, but I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your love and support for the show.

"Thank you for every post, tweet, edit, interaction, etc. It fills me with so much joy knowing that the show resonated with so many people. Your love made all of our collective work, sacrifices, and heartache, worth it."
Chien also thanked the cast, crew and viewers, adding: "Thank you all for your love. Without you, this wouldn’t mean nearly as much as it does. I gave everything I had to this show, and I can’t wait to do the same in the next project, whatever, whenever it may be – I promise I will give it my all."
The Brothers Sun was created and executive produced by Byron Wu and American Horror Story's Brad Falchuk, and also starred Joon Lee and Highdee Kuan.
