Micky van de Ven offers Tottenham a major boost as defender available for Luton clash
Ange Postecoglou has confirmed Micky van de Ven is in contention for Tottenham ahead of Saturday’s Premier League game against Luton.
The defender missed the 3-0 loss away at Fulham before the international break following a hamstring injury sustained in the 4-0 win over Aston Villa earlier this month.
Spurs had been confident Van de Ven had avoided a second serious injury of the season, with the defender having missed over two months of action following a hamstring injured suffered against Chelsea in November.
“First thing is all the internationals got through unscathed,” said the Spurs boss.
“Most of them got meaningful game time too which was important.
“Micky's trained the last couple of days and is available."
Richarlison is also available for the game after his recent knee injury as Spurs look to put the pressure on Villa in the battle for the top four. Postecoglou’s side will go level on points with Villa should they beat the Hatters, while they would also boast a game in hand.
“Richy's OK, he's had a knee niggle, we've been managing him but he trained today, he's feeling good and he's available,” added the Spurs boss.
Postecoglou also insisted midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has not missed a training session despite recently revealing he had been playing with a broken toe for both Spurs and Uruguay.
"He's still training and playing, he hasn't missed a session as far as I've seen,” said the Australian.
