Mill Valley Film Festival to Honor Jude Law With Tribute
Jude Law will be honored with a tribute at the 47th Mill Valley Film Festival, the California Film Institute announced. The festival is set to run from Oct. 3 through Oct. 13.
The actor will participate in an onstage conversation and presentation of the MVFF Award, which is presented to the recipients of the festival’s tributes and spotlights, special programs honoring and celebrating the work of distinguished artists and innovators in the filmmaking community.

“Jude Law’s striking performance in his new film ‘Firebrand’ is a reminder of his extraordinary career, one that defies pigeonholing with roles that are romantic and iconic, edgy and seductive, encompassing the queer, historic and fantastical,” said Zoë Elton, MVFF director of programming. “From his early work on television and stage, including a Tony-nominated performance in ‘Indiscretions,’ to acclaimed films like ‘Wilde and Gattaca,’ Law has consistently showcased his versatile talent.”
Law’s tribute will revisit key moments from his films and examine his portrayal of Henry VIII in the upcoming drama, “Firebrand.” A BAFTA winner and Oscar, Tony and Olivier Award-nominated actor, Law’s career has spanned three decades including both independent films and major productions.
Law has collaborated with directors like Anthony Minghella, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Nancy Meyers and Steven Soderbergh and starred in films like “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “The Holiday” and more. He also co-founded production company Riff Raff Entertainment Ltd. with Ben Jackson and developed material from the ground up. Under his Riff Raff banner, Law has produced films including “True Things,” “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow” and “Sleuth.”
Law also leads the Disney+ series “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,” Ron Howard’s “Eden” and Justin Kurzel’s “The Order,” also produced by Riff Raff. He is currently in production on the Netflix series “Black Rabbit,” in which he stars opposite Jason Bateman, and executive produces under Riff Raff.
