Matthew Gorski and Megan Bailes are married!

The professional baseball player and the fitness TikTok influencer tied the knot in front of 150 guests in Naples, Florida on October 21.

“We chose Naples because our first date was in Naples, we got engaged in Naples, and now we got married in Naples,” Bailes tells PEOPLE. “The venue was gorgeous. We fell in love with the architecture, ballroom, event coordinator, everything about it was our style!”

The couple's three-day affair, which was planned by Carley Elizabeth Weddings, kicked off with a welcome party at Bailes’ parent’s golf club. “We continued the wedding vibes with dinners with our families and friends, going out to popular local social spots, spa days, rounds of golf, and enjoying the beach resort,” she says.  “It was really important to us that we have all of our friends come together to celebrate in a big way!”

Décor for the pair's nuptials incorporated Bailes' favorite color. “If anyone knows me, they know I love pink, bows, and anything girly,” she explains. “We even went with a black-tie optional, pink encouraged theme! We added some gold to our scheme to incorporate the sentimentality of our wedding bands being gold.”

The bride wore the Nora gown by Pronovias and her sister’s borrowed veil as the duo exchanged rings by Charles Jewelry and traditional vows in a ceremony officiated by Gorski’s teammate, Aaron Shackelford. “He got ordained specifically to perform our ceremony, very special for us,” says Bailes.

During the reception guests dined on a plated dinner of a green salad, which was designed as a bouquet, plus a duet plate of filet and lobster. For dessert, a four-tier vanilla cake with a confetti mousse with pink and white cascading roses.

The couple first connected on TikTok in March 2022. “Matthew came across one of my ab workout videos on TikTok and reached out to me by sliding into my DMs," says Bailes, jokingly adding, “It’s the start to every modern day love story!”

At the time, Gorski was at spring training in Bradenton, Florida and Bailes, who graduated from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, was with her family in Naples, Florida. “He drove the two hours to take me to dinner and we didn’t see each other again until May 16th, 2022," she says.

"I spontaneously flew to North Carolina on May 16th where he picked me up from the airport. I walked out of the airport sliding doors, trying to remain calm, but couldn't keep my composure. I dropped my luggage, ran to him, and jumped into his arms! He asked me to be his girlfriend, and it was the easiest yes, other then when he asked me to marry him!”

Gorski popped the question on December 30, 2022. “He got down on one knee and asked me to be his forever,” says Bailes. “We went back to my parents home in Naples and both of our families were there waiting to celebrate with us.”

For the bride and groom, their nuptials were a dream come true. “My parents gave me the wedding I have been dreaming about since I was a little girl. Everything from my dream wedding dress to gold trim charger plates to a champagne tower, it all felt too good to be true. I feel so unbelievably blessed that my parents would give me a day that Matthew and I will never forget.”

Now as they enjoy every moment of wedded bliss, the newlyweds feel blessed to spend their lives together.

“Getting married to me means starting a new life with your best friend,” says Gorski.  “Growing and navigating life with one another and making each memory more special than the last. The love we share for each other is unmatched and doesn’t waiver. Getting married to Megan is one of the easiest choices I’ve ever made and I’m excited to go throughout life with her by my side.”

Adds Bailes: We were never meant to do this life alone; so when you find a love as strong as ours, you can’t help but declare it to the world through marriage. I consider myself blessed to have found a love like ours."
