Mobile Legends (MLBB) developer MOONTON Games announced on Saturday (18 February) that the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023 will be going global with the addition of teams from North America (NA), Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Turkey.

With those new additions, MSC 2023 will feature a total of 12 teams from Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Myanmar, the Mekong region, NA, MENA, and Turkey.

Indonesia and the Philippines will each send two teams to the MSC, those being the champions and runners-up of their respective MLBB Professional Leagues (MPL). The MPL champions for Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, and MENA will represent their regions.

Meanwhile, the Mekong, Myanmar, NA, and Turkey will determine their representatives through qualifiers and regional tournaments.

MSC 2023 will be hosted from 10 to 18 June, though MOONTON has yet to reveal other details about the tournament.

MOONTON said in a press release that the decision to let teams from outside Southeast Asia into the MSC was made in a bid "to enhance the competition level and to provide more opportunities for these regions to participate in international esports events."

The MSC has been a staple of the MLBB esports circuit since 2017, when Jakarta, Indonesia hosted the first-ever iteration of the event.

Last year's MSC was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where RSG Philippines swept Indonesia's RRQ Hoshi to be crowned as champions.

MSC 2023 is just one of the many international MLBB tournaments planned by MOONTON for this year. MLBB's 2023 season will be capped off by the M5 World Championship, which will be hosted in the Philippines in December.
