The latest and most anticipated Mobile Legends (MLBB) collab is almost here!

Developer MOONTON Games announced on Monday (13 February) that the MLBB x Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration is coming out on Saturday (18 February).

This is the third anime-inspired skin line for the game, after the Aspirants skin set and the Saint Seiya skin set. Moonton originally hinted at a partnership via an in-game survey last year, which took a while to materialise.

Which of the Jujutsu Kaisen characters will be featured?

There will be four characters featured from the anime, and they were chosen mainly because of their compatibility with MLBB’s characters in-game.

Satoru Gojo, one of the main protagonists of the anime, will be portrayed by Xavier, the Defier of Light. As he is the strongest character in Jujutsu Kaisen, it makes us wonder: will Xavier get more buffs?

Itadori Yuji, who is a master of hand-to-hand combat, will be featured as Yin, the Martial Genius in the game. Like Yin, Yuji mainly uses his fists for combat and has superhuman strength and very quick reflexes.

Nobara Kugisaki, a grade 3 jujutsu sorcerer, will be portrayed by Melissa, a girl with a Cursed Needle in-game. Both Nobara and Melissa make use of dolls and needles in their skills, so it’s just fitting that Melissa gets to play the sorceress.

Megumi Fushiguro, a grade 2 sorcerer, is going to be portrayed by Julian. With Megumi being the inheritor of the prized Ten Shadows Technique of the Zenin Clan, Julian fits the bill, with him using Shadows to attack enemies too.

Jujutsu Kaisen is widely regarded as one of the most popular shounen anime ever made. The manga was written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, and the anime is based on it.

Its first season, produced by the world-renowned Japanese animation studio MAPPA, debuted in 2020 and was an instant success. Season two of the anime series is expected to premiere in July of 2023.

Its popularity led to the release of a prequel film in 2021 named Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which became the highest-earning Japanese box office film from 2021, and earned a total of US$195,870,885 worldwide, making it the sixth highest-earning anime film of all time, surpassing Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba — the Movie: Mugen Train, three Hayao Miyazaki films (Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Ponyo), and Your Name, according to a report by Anime News Network.
