Morning Live's Dr James Greenwood has announced that he and husband Mark Titterton have welcomed a baby boy, and revealed the sweet name.

The couple shared that they have named their son Oliver, announcing the news with a snap of themselves, the little one and surrogate Rachael.

"We are all so thrilled and our hearts are bursting with joy. Born at 9.54 pm, 7.8 pounds. Baby and Dads doing great, surrogate Rachael is the most incredible human being on this planet and has blown us all away with her phenomenal generosity and strength," James said. "Can’t wait for you to all meet him."

Announcing the news on the BBC One programme, host Gethin Jones gave the reasoning behind the name, explaining that the baby shares the name with Dr James' one-eyed golden Labrador who appeared on the show with him until he sadly passed away recently.

"You'll remember Oliver, who we lost six months ago now," Gethin said, "and I just love it. Oliver was just so amazing, so gracious, so calm when we first started Morning Live. He was so lovely and now we've got another little Oliver in the family!"

Co-host Kimberly Walsh added that dog Oliver had an "incredible" energy and expected the baby to be the same, and exclaimed how happy she was that Dr James, Mark and Rachael were all doing so well.
