This Morning and The One Show star goes missing on Greek island
Dr Michael Mosley, known for his appearances on This Morning and The One Show, has gone missing on the Greek Island of Symi.
The TV doctor's disappearance has been confirmed by his agent to the Press Association.
Mosley, who also hosts the Just One Thing health podcast for the BBC, went missing on Wednesday (June 5) whilst on holiday on the Aegean island. It has been reported that Mosley's wife, Dr Clare Bailey, raised the alarm after not hearing from him for several hours.
Mosley couldn't be located overnight, and an appeal was shared in a local Facebook group following his disappearance.
"Have you seen this man? He set off to walk back from St Nick's at about 13.30 and failed to make it home. His friends are concerned as it is 6 hours since they last saw him," the post read.
"His name is Dr Mike Mosley and he is a familiar face for many British people."
"A search and rescue team is coming from Athens with drones and other more sophisticated equipment to extend the search," it continued. "They are expected to arrive by about 1pm."
In a statement, the Foreign Office said: "We are supporting the family of a British man who is missing in Greece and are in contact with the local authorities."
Greek police said specially trained dogs and a helicopter were to join the search for Mosley on June 6.
"We've got every service possible out there looking for him," a police chief who chose to remain anonymous told The Guardian. "He was officially reported missing this morning and now there are police, firemen and volunteers involved in the search."
"We are working on the assumption that he might have been affected by the heat, that he might have slipped and fallen perhaps from a height. Right now nothing is being ruled out."
