The Morning Show spoilers follow.

The Morning Show executive producer Mimi Leder has spoken about Jon Hamm's debut on the show.

The Mad Men and Top Gun: Maverick star made his debut in the third season of the Apple TV+ show playing Paul Marks, an arrogant tech boss.

Leder also directed the season premiere where some of the crew take a ride into space on Marks' rocket, which boasted a design that could be described as somewhat phallic.

"[Production designer] Nelson [Coates] and I looked at Space X, Blue Origin [and] a lot of the suborbital rockets that go up 62 miles," Leder told Radio Times.

"He designed what he thought our rocket ship would look like. I thought it was great, and yes, I felt it was a bit phallic, but they all are, really!

"It's really hard to do space, especially on television. I had the good fortune of directing the movie Deep Impact, where I had a lot of experience in flying actors around on wires, and working in zero gravity," Leder added of directing the scenes.

"But it took a lot of training for our actors to be in these wires. You have to have a big core strength to flip over and to be able to stay in the character, even when you're being manipulated below camera with stunt people."

The Morning Show follows the lives of employees at the UBA Network, with topics ranging from the #MeTooMovement to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ensemble cast includes Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Julianna Margulies, Billy Crudup, Greta Lee, Néstor Carbonell, Desean Terry and Mark Duplass. Steve Carell and Bel Powley also appeared in the first two seasons.

The eight-episode third season is due to conclude in October, but fans already can be confident that they will see more of The Morning Show following its renewal for a fourth season, with a fifth rumoured to be in the works.
