Apple TV+ has released some first-look images from season three of The Morning Show, providing fans with a glimpse of John Hamm's media mogul Paul Marks.

The acclaimed news drama will return to screens on September 13, nearly two years after season two ended with everyone's job on the line due to the emerging COVID-19 pandemic.

According to an official synopsis for season three, the news network's future is "thrown into question and loyalties are pushed to the brink when a tech titan takes an interest in UBA".

The tech titan in question is Hamm's character Paul, who will be a direct rival to Billy Crudup's Cory Ellison.

The synopsis for season three, which will consist of 10 episodes, continues: "Unexpected alliances form, private truths are weaponised, and everyone is forced to confront their core values both in and out of the newsroom."

Another still from the upcoming season provides fans with a first look at Nicole Beharie's character Christina Hunter, who is a new millennial news anchor on the show.

Other photos see the return of Jennifer Anniston's Alex Levy and Reese Witherspoon's Bradley Jackson, as well as Mark Duplass' Chip Black.

Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee and Julianna Margulies will also reprise their respective roles as Yanko Flores, Mia Jordan, Stella Balk and Laura Peterson.

Fans can be assured that The Morning Show will continue after season three airs, as it's already been confirmed for a fourth season.

The Morning Show seasons 1-2 are streaming now on Apple TV+. Season 3 premiers on September 13.
