This Morning star Josie Gibson has opened up on the moment she suffered a panic attack in the studio.

Following her Big Brother win back in 2010, Gibson decided to try her hand at TV presenting, eventually landing a job as a segment presenter on This Morning.

Speaking to OK! about her rise to fame, Gibson said: "My career is a complete fluke, I didn't think I was even going to go on Big Brother, and then when I got out, I thought that I'd quite like to do some presenting.

After a few years as This Morning's field reporter where Gibson was tasked with things such as testing out roller coasters, or jumping into the Cornish sea, she was promoted.

According to Gibson, who was promoted to present the main show in 2021, she couldn't even see the autocue when she first started.

"I wasn't very good at the start, because I couldn't see the autocue, but then I had my eyes lasered, and This Morning gave me a chance."

Describing the moment she had a panic attack in the ITV studio, Gibson said that the show was very supportive of her despite her nerves: "Fair play to the show – they even stuck with me after I had a panic attack in the studio because I was so nervous. But they really nurtured me and they've been brilliant to me.

"I cannot believe I work on This Morning. I actually cannot get over it," Gibson said. "If someone had told me I'd present one of the biggest daytime TV shows I would have laughed in their face. I feel so grateful and honoured."

Gibson was recently chosen to step in as a host alongside Holly Willoughby following the departure of long-running presenter Phillip Schofield.

This Morning airs on weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
