This Morning star Jeff Brazier has revealed why he turned down a spot on Strictly Come Dancing.

Speaking to The Sun, the TV presenter confirmed that he has rejected offers to appear on Strictly because he doesn't want to "steal" his son Bobby Brazier's "thunder", following Bobby’s success on the competition show with Dianne Buswell last year.

"Bobby’s been there, it’s his thing. I feel like to step into that world would almost be to sort of steal his thunder slightly. That’s Bob’s thing and I want to leave it to him," said Jeff.

He continued: "I've got plenty of things that I really enjoy doing, I've got lots of exciting projects moving forward and I'll stay in my lane, I think.

"But I don't think that going on Strictly would be right for me right now."

Bobby, who also appears on Celebrity Gogglebox with his dad, reached the Strictly final with his pro dance partner Dianne last year.

The EastEnders actor missed out on first place to Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola, who took home the coveted Glitterball Trophy.

Earlier this month, Bobby took part in annual charity football match Soccer Aid, playing for England alongside the likes of Paddy McGuinness and Tom Hiddleston.

The star took to Instagram after the match to highlight that Soccer Aid has raised over £106 million for UNICEF since it began in 2006, adding: "This really was a wicked experience, for an unbelievable event and a really important, urgent and selfless cause. There are so many unsung heroes behind this. Thank you."

Showing her support for Bobby, Dianne commented on the post: "What a star," along with a series of emojis.

Strictly Come Dancing will return later this year on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
