Many congratulations are in order for This Morning star Siân Welby, who has announced she is expecting a baby.

The presenter took to Instagram to confirm the happy news that she was expecting her first child with fiancé Jake Beckett.

The couple shared a joint post showing a series of pictures of Siân's pregnancy journey alongside the words: "We're having a baby."

The star added in the caption: "We have some news….. [red heart emoji]".

Siân has since received a host of well wishes, with Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford writing: "WOW! How wonderful! Congratulations!"

Fellow This Morning star Rochelle Humes said: "Best news ever! Congratulations beautiful people", while presenter Laura Whitmore added: "Congrats! Gorgeous news xx".

"HOW EXCITING! CONGRATULATIONS," wrote Big Brother's AJ Odudu, and comedian Mo Gilligan said: "Big congratulations to you guys".

This Morning's official account on X (formerly Twitter) also sent their well wishes, writing: "A huge congratulations to our Siân and her partner Jake, after they announced they’re expecting a baby!"

Capital Breakfast star Siân recently stood in as a co-host on This Morning alongside Dermot O'Leary as part of a rotation of relief presenters, before Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were confirmed as the show's main presenters earlier this month.

It has been an exciting year for Siân personally as she revealed last August that she and creative producer Jake were engaged following a surprise proposal.

Sharing two pictures on her Instagram page at the time, she wrote: "On Tuesday I thought we were just going on a boat trip!! Genuinely didn’t see this coming. For once I am totally speechless. I didn’t think it mattered until he asked me, and then suddenly it meant everything. Love you Jakey x 15.8.23".

China anchors 'monster ship' in South China Sea, Philippine coast guard says
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Saturday that China's largest coastguard vessel has anchored in Manila's exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the South China Sea, and is meant to intimidate its smaller Asian neighbour.
