SMRT added on Facebook that engineers traced the fault to a loose panel next to the tracks in the tunnel near Tiong Bahru MRT Station. As a result, traction power needed to be “turned off for safety”, resulting in the stoppage of service between Queenstown and Bugis in both directions from 11.30am, “for up to half an hour”.
