Mudslide Prompts Road Closure on LA's Mulholland Drive

A mudslide prompted a closure on one of Los Angeles’s most iconic roads, Mulholland Drive, and the evacuation of a nearby home on Tuesday, February 28, officials said.

Portions of the backyard of a “steeply terraced home” in Beverly Crest gave way and slid approximately 50 feet downhill and onto Mulholland Drive on Tuesday, Erik Scott, Public Information Officer for the Los Angeles Fire Department, said.

The National Weather Service said rain, snow and wind gusts would impact the region through Wednesday. Credit: LAFD via Storyful
