A New Jersey man was charged with murder following the death of his mother, who he allegedly killed after an argument over his plan to cut a tattoo off his leg.

James Doran, 30, was taken into custody in Pennsylvania and is pending extradition to Camden County, N.J., in connection with the death of his 65-year-old mother Lillian Doran.

On March 2, officers responded to a home in Blackwood, N.J., and found Lillian dead on a bedroom floor with apparent trauma to the back of her head, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by PEOPLE.

Witnesses told police that James, who was living at the home with his mother and several family members, allegedly got into an argument with his mother the night before “about James Doran cutting a tattoo off his leg and walking around the house with a baseball bat.”
