‘Napoleon’ Streaming Campaign Gets Start Date On Apple TV+

Ridley Scott’s Napoleon is preparing to invade the streaming world. The Joaquin Phoenix-led historical epic from Apple Original Films will hit Apple TV+ on March 1.

Up for Best Visual Effects, Production Design Costume Design at the Oscars next month, the film scripted by David Scarpa follows the French emperor and military leader’s ruthless rise, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine (Vanessa Kirby). The film captures Napoleon’s famous battles, relentless ambition and astounding strategic mind as an extraordinary military leader and war visionary.

The pic also is nominated for four BAFTA Awards this weekend, including Outstanding British Film of the Year. It has grossed nearly $220 million worldwide after a $79 million opening frame and $61.5 million in North America.

An Apple Studios production in conjunction with Scott Free Productions, Napoleon is directed and produced by Scott and produced by Kevin Walsh, Mark Huffam and Phoenix, with Michael Pruss and Aidan Elliott serving as executive producers.
