Natalie Portman Channels 1920s Glamour in Sheer Dress With Beaded Fringe at Miss Dior Exhibit Opening in Tokyo
Natalie Portman put a sheer spin on retro fashion while attending the Miss Dior exhibition opening in Tokyo on Wednesday.
The actress, who has been a spokesmodel for the French label’s Miss Dior fragrance since 2011, sported an embroidered high-neck dress with beaded fringe along the hemline. The bodice of her 1920s-inspired frock, which evoked the era’s iconic flapper garb, featured floral motifs and a statement collar.

Portman completed her look with silver open-toe heels, a pearl cocktail ring and matching dangle earrings.

The “May December” star wore her brunette tresses in a sleek updo, while her makeup consisted of taupe eye shadow and rosy blush.
Portman has worn Dior designs on multiple occasions, including at the 2024 Golden Globes in January. Her black tulle evening dress was embroidered with an impressionist landscape of micro-florals.
“My dress was hand-beaded and took hundreds of hours of work, so I’m really lucky to get to wear this, it’s like a garden on a dress,” Portman told WWD.
The actress also touched upon the importance of sustainable fashion.
“It’s really exciting to see more companies putting forward sustainable and vegan materials,” she continued. “I actually invested in a company called MycoWorks that produces mushroom leather, which a lot of luxury brands are now using.”
