Natalie Portman divorces husband Benjamin Millepied after 11 years of marriage

Natalie Portman has divorced her husband of 11 years, Benjamin Millepied.

The Star Wars actress filed for divorce eight months ago and the proceedings have now been finalised in France, where they lived, People Magazine reported.

The couple share two children.

Their separation came after Millepied, a director and choreographer, faced allegations of infidelity last year.

He and Portman, 42, declined to comment publicly on the matter.

Two months after the allegation surfaced, they were spotted watching the Women's Football World Cup final together in Sydney.

Last month, Portman addressed rumours about her marriage in an interview with Vanity Fair. She told the US publication that the speculation "is terrible, and I have no desire to contribute to it".

Portman met Millepied when, as choreographer for the 2010 film Black Swan, he taught her complex ballet sequences. She later won an Oscar for her performance.

In December 2010 the couple announced that they were engaged and expecting their first child.

Their son Aleph arrived in June 2011 and their wedding took place the following summer in California.

Portman gave birth to their second child, Amalia, in February 2017.

Millepied, 46, began his career as a dancer when he joined the New York City Ballet in the 1990s. He has since gone on to become a choreographer for stage and the big screen, working on films including Dune.

Portman's latest film May December was released in 2023 and saw her star opposite Julianne Moore.
