NBA: Nuggets' Harrington undergoes knee surgery

Denver Nuggets forward Al Harrington, who battled through the first round of the NBA playoffs despite an injury, underwent successful right knee surgery on Wednesday, the team announced. Harrington, 32, had a torn meniscus repaired. He suffered the injury on April 1 but missed only two of Denver's final 13 regular-season games and played in all seven playoff games for the Nuggets. Denver lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in seven games in a best-of-seven Western Conference opening-round series. Harrington averaged 14.2 points and 6.1 rebounds in 64 games for the Nuggets this season and produced 9.7 points and 4.3 rebounds a game in the playoffs. Harrington, a 13-year NBA veteran, is expected to be back in time for off-season workouts in July.
