NBC Orders ‘The Hunting Party’ Crime Procedural Series
NBC has handed a series order to The Hunting Party, a high-concept crime procedural from JJ Bailey, The Endgame co-creator Jake Coburn and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. The pickup was teased by Universal TV President Erin Underhill in her Q&A with Deadline about the studio’s drama procedural business.
Created by Bailey, The Hunting Party is about a small team of investigators who are assembled to track down and capture the most dangerous killers our country has ever seen, all of whom have just escaped from a top-secret prison that’s not supposed to exist.

The Hunting Party was one of two drama projects NBC commissioned writers rooms for last February. The other, Grosse Pointe Garden Society from Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs, just received a pilot order.
NBC’s other 2024 pilots include Suits: L.A. and a Reba McEntire comedy.
