The futures of NCIS and spin-off NCIS: Hawai'i have been confirmed, with both shows renewed for new seasons.

The two procedurals are currently in their 20th and second seasons, respectively, though broadcaster CBS has announced that more is to come for its 2023-24 season.

Alongside the two series, the broadcaster has confirmed renewals for CSI: Vegas, The Amazing Race, 60 Minutes, Survivor, Tough as Nails, Lingo and 48 Hours.

“This season CBS is continuing its winning tradition, delivering an unparalleled combination of top returning series and new hit shows that are entertaining huge audiences on both broadcast and streaming,” said CBS Entertainment chief Amy Reisenbach in a statement (via TVLine).

“It is a testament to the stellar work being done by our best-in-class talent in front of and behind the camera that we have had yet another exceptional season, and I know we will only continue to build on this foundation of outstanding programming as we look ahead toward next fall.”

One show that we know won't be back is NCIS's Los Angeles spin-off, which was confirmed last month to be ending with its 14th season after 14 years on air.

"Our crew has grown to be a true family, and their hard work and dedication has been fundamental to our success year after year," showrunner R Scott Gemmill said in response to the news.

"My deepest gratitude to the cast members, who have brought our characters to life with their impassioned performances – thank you for your talent, professionalism and continuous enthusiasm.

"And to our loyal viewers who loved our characters and followed their journeys, thank you. We look forward to delivering an end to the series that is both satisfying and does justice to these beloved characters."

NCIS aired a big crossover last month, which saw characters from the main series, Hawai'i and Los Angeles team up for a special three-episode event, and drew in an impressive 7 million viewers.

NCIS airs on CBS in the US. Seasons 1-19 are streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
