NCIS: Sydney is officially heading to CBS as well as streaming platform Paramount+ this autumn.

The Australian-based spin-off of the procedural action series is debuting in the midst of the concurrent WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes across Hollywood.

The Wrap reports that it'll premiere on Monday, November 13 at 10pm on CBS in the US, with the next seven episodes releasing weekly in the same time slot. The show was originally set to debut exclusively on Paramount+.

As well as an effect on filming, the strikes have also impacted TV schedules – it was recently confirmed that CBS is also bringing Yellowstone to its network as part of a restructured lineup.

"NCIS is one of the most popular series in the world and we're thrilled to expand this franchise with a uniquely Australian twist," said CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach in a statement.

"With the addition of NCIS: Sydney, our studio and Network footprint continues to grow in this fascinating world that has been a proven winner with viewers on both linear and streaming platforms.

"Featuring the stunning backdrop of Australia, the new series will incorporate the high-stakes intrigue, humour and camaraderie that have kept fans captivated by the NCIS teams for over two decades."

An official logline for NCIS: Sydney reads: "With rising international tensions in the Indo-Pacific, a brilliant and eclectic team of US NCIS agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) are grafted into a multinational taskforce to keep naval crimes in check in the most contested patch of ocean on the planet."

Olivia Swann of DC's Legends of Tomorrow fame co-leads as NCIS special agent Michelle Mackey, while Home and Away star Todd Lasance joins her as Sergeant Jim 'JD' Dempsey.

Former Neighbours star Mavournee Hazel will also be part of the cast.

NCIS airs on CBS in the US. Seasons 1-20 are streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
