Need a Travel Butler? Download This App
by Jo Piazza
There are so many small tasks to accomplish in preparing for a trip — booking, packing, planning — that the weeks and days before you leave can often be stressful and exhausting.
A new app is trying to fix that by offering customers a “travel butler” that will help alleviate some of the stress of pretravel planning.
Here’s how it works: Enter your travel time and destination into the app.

First things first, the app will pull the latest weather forecast for your destination and then generate a packing list based on that data and some personal information (male or female, business or vacation).
If you have standbys that you pack for every trip, you can add those to a default packing list. For example, I always forget my computer and phone cords. The app provides a handy checklist to make sure that doesn’t happen.
It’s pretty simple and sweet, and takes over a lot of brain bandwidth typically dedicated to pretrip packing.

After you arrive at your location, the butler will give you suggestions about what to do. The app pulls in data from Foursquare to show you which restaurants are trending and then gives you all the information you need to make a decision — reviews and ratings, addresses with maps, hours of operation, and contact details.

The butler will also provide you with interesting activities and historical landmarks to visit, saving you the hassle of having to comb through guidebook after guidebook.
At the end of the day, I need an app to do one of two things to be a win for me — enhance my experience or make my life easier. This one does both.
