Neighbours has confirmed an exciting line-up of stars for the Australian date of the upcoming Celebration Tour.

Familiar faces from the soap will be taking to the stage in various locations around the UK in March, before an Australian date follows in Melbourne on April 16.

Organisers have now confirmed that the Australian date will have a different selection of cast involved.

Alan Fletcher (Karl Kennedy), Annie Jones (Jane Harris) and April Rose Pengilly (Chloe Brennan) will all be taking part, fresh from their involvement in the UK dates.

However, they'll also be joined by Neighbours legends Ian Smith and Anne Charleston, who played iconic couple Harold and Madge Bishop.

The fun doesn't stop there, as Tim Kano (Leo Tanaka) and Lucinda Cowden (Melanie Pearson) have also signed up.

Newsreader, radio personality and journalist Jennifer Hansen will be on hosting duties.

A statement from the tour teased: "The exclusive show will bring to the stage iconic cast members and will take a look back at the incredible history of the much-loved show, while looking ahead to its bright future.

"This celebration will give Neighbours fans a chance to re-visit some of their favourite Ramsay Street moments over the last three and a half decades.

"The audience will be treated to never-before-heard stories from Erinsborough and get a chance to ask their own burning questions to the cast."

The event takes place at Hamer Hall in Melbourne and tickets can be booked at the venue's website. As with the UK dates, meet and greet opportunities are also planned.

Neighbours came to an end in July last year after being axed by UK broadcaster Channel 5. A historic finale episode featured the returns of legendary former cast members like Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan and Guy Pearce.

Fortunately, it was later announced that Amazon had come to the rescue, commissioning new episodes of Neighbours for its free streaming service, Freevee.

Classic episodes will launch on Freevee later this week, while the new season will debut in the second half of 2023.

Neighbours returns in the second half of 2023 with new episodes streaming free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. Network 10 will retain first-run rights in Australia for the new series.
