Neighbours will officially return to filming at the iconic Ramsay Street home, it was confirmed last night at the Neighbours: The Celebration stage show.

As reported by TV Tonight, the Neighbours revival began production for its new show today and has once again secured the location of its Ramsay Street home, Pin Oak Court in Vermont South, Australia.

It is unclear, however, if there will be any exclusions in the set and some of the homes may have undergone changes by their owners.

The event, which was hosted by Jennifer Hansen, also confirmed the return of actress Lucinda Cowden, who plays Melanie Pearson. Melanie married Toadie (Ryan Maloney) in the season finale.

"She’s coming" back. It’s (been) so hard not to share. People were just fighting for me, and I just want to say thank you to you all," Cowden said.

That news was previously confirmed online, with the Neighbours Twitter account posting: "We're so excited to announce that Lucinda Cowden will be reprising her role as Melanie Pearson in new episodes of Neighbours later this year. We can't wait to welcome her back (and maybe her pig collection too). Even Madame Zolga couldn't have predicted this one!"

Former Neighbours star Ben Hall recently spoke about a potential return to the show as his character Ned Willis.

"Am I considering going back? Ned has not been asked back. I can tell you that he's not going back at this point in time," he said.

"It is Neighbours, you never know what's gonna happen... I could get a call tomorrow and [they could say], 'Hey, can you come in?'" he said.

Neighbours returns in the second half of 2023 with new episodes streaming free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. Network 10 will retain first-run rights in Australia for the new series.
