Neighbours star April Rose Pengilly announces engagement

Congratulations are in order for Neighbours actress April Rose Pengilly, who has announced her engagement to partner Adam Paul.

The Chloe Brennan actress and her other half have been dating since early 2022, and in a series of photos shared to their Instagram pages, it's been revealed that he got down on one knee and popped the question while out on the water in Sydney.

As well as showing off the proposal and engagement ring in multiple front-and-centre snaps, the photos also reveal that the engagement was a family get-together, with April's father Kirk (famous for being a member of INXS) just one of the loved ones in attendance.

The actress kept her caption brief, simply using an infinity loop emoji, but on her Instagram Stories she wrote "Excuse my cry eyes" on one photo and wrote in another that she had been "crying so much" because "everything has been so beautiful and perfect", adding that she feels like the "luckiest girl in the world" and called Adam her "forever".

In further Stories, she revealed that her dad had bought a bottle of Krug champagne when she was born and had been saving it for this moment. She called the video of the proposal "the happiest moment", adding that it went so quickly, she wants to rewind time and experience it again.

April's Neighbours character Chloe is currently on our screens as part of a temporary return, and the actress revealed last month that she'd be open to a permanent stint on the soap again if scheduling allowed.

Considering she's now got a wedding to plan, we think she might be a bit busy.

Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach.
