Netflix confirms The Mole reboot future
Netflix has confirmed the future of its reality game show The Mole, revealing that it has been renewed for a second series.
According to Variety, Netflix has ordered a second season of the reality TV show, which serves as a reboot of the ABC series of the same name.
The Mole tasks twelve players over the course of the series to complete challenges, working together to add to a prize fund that only one contestant can win at the end of the show.
However, one player is branded a "mole" and must act as a saboteur in an attempt to undermine their teammates' efforts to add to the prize pot

By the end of the series, the remaining players try to identify the mole among them by exposing them in order to win the prize money.
Running for five seasons between 2001 and 2009, the original show The Mole, and the Netflix version, are both based on a popular unscripted Belgian series called De Mol.
Created by Bart De Pauw, Michel Vanhove, Michiel Devlieger and Tom Lenaerts, the original The Mole has been licensed in over 40 countries.

The ABC show was initially hosted by journalist and broadcaster Anderson Cooper, who hosted seasons 1 to 3. He was followed by presenter Ahmad Rashad and after that Jon Kelley before the show was axed.
Alex Wagner served as host for season 1 of the Netflix reboot but, at the time of writing, it is unclear whether she will return for a second season of the competition series, which Variety describes as "precision-engineered to evoke distrust and dissension."
Serving as executive producers for the show are Rikkie Proost, David Tibballs, Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening, and David Burris.
