Nicki Minaj Hilariously Had 'No Idea' Her New Fragrance Was Being Released Last Week: 'Was Informed of Nothing'
Minaj said in October that Pink Friday 2 Eau de Parfum would be released on Dec. 17 on Amazon and Dec. 26 at JCPenney
Nicki Minaj's new fragrance made its debut a bit earlier than planned — and then it sold out.
On Saturday, the rapper and singer, 40, revealed on X (formerly known as Twitter), that she was unaware of the release of her new Pink Friday 2 Eau de Parfum.
“I had no idea. Was informed of nothing. Didn’t get a link to post. Just woke up one day & boom!,” Minaj wrote as she shared a screenshot of the perfume. “Saw y’all discussing it.”
The “Barbie” artist added, “Noreen from my fragrance co advised that she’ll be getting back to me w/answers on this right away,” adding that she apparently “had no clue either. Go figure.”

Minaj then shared a GIF of actress Meagan Good looking confused in Amazon series Harlem before sharing her surprise about a link to buy the fragrance being “real” and the perfume being “physically in STORES?!?!!!!”
“Wow. Well boo, thank you for your support. I don’t even have the official box ORRR bottle yet,” Minaj wrote. “I was told it would be on Amazon 1st & JCPenny following week or2 but maybe plans did the ol switcheroo.”
Since the star’s post, the product sold out at JCPenney and Minaj has reshared a number of posts from her fans praising the new fragrance (and the star herself). She also jokingly told her fans to be nice to the store employees while shopping! "Yoooo 🥴 I can only imagine what the barbz been putting the staff through chi. 😩 Y’all better be on y’all best behavior. I can see y’all even when I’m not there! 👀" she wrote.

In October, Minaj announced on X that the perfume would be released on Dec. 17 on Amazon and Dec. 26 on JCPenney. However, the rapper also posted on Nov. 24 that there was a "mix up" and the JCPenney release got moved up, adding she's "honored & grateful" to have her fragrance on the store's shelves. She launched her first Pink Friday fragrance in 2012.
The artist’s perfume confusion comes after she won top rap female artist at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards earlier this month.
Minaj — who shares 3-year-old son, known publicly as "Papa Bear,” with husband Kenny Petty — is also set to headline the Rolling Loud festival next year, alongside Post Malone and Metro Boomin with Future.
The event will be taking place from March 15-17, 2024, at Hollywood Park.
