Nike’s Revived Air Max Sunder Sneaker Will Release in Highlighter Pink and Green in August

More from Footwear News

The Nike Air Max Sunder revival will ramp up in August with two new colorways following up on the initial release in July.

The Nike Air Max Sunder “Highlighter Pink” and “Highlighter Green” will release on the same day in August as the second and third colorways for the cult classic sneaker. The two sneakers see their namesake color form the zipper-shrouded, lycra spandex upper, while the extensive mudguard and sole unit both utilize black and white. The sockliner is also rendered in black to boost the contrast, while the exposed Air bubbles are rendered in the shoes’ respective highlighter color.

The numbers “6453” appear on the tongue when the shoe is unzipped, which is the last four digits of Nike’s office numbers and spells out “Nike” on a keypad.

So far, only official images of the Air Max Sunder in “Highlighter Pink” have been revealed.

The Air Max Sunder was originally known as the Air Sunder Max when it made its debut in 1999 as a cross-training shoe. Its comfort made it a hit in the lifestyle sector, and its futuristic look was indicative of the Y2K era. After the shoe’s initial run, Nike kept the Air Max Sunder in its archives until a Comme des Garçons collaboration simplified the upper in 2022 and laid the groundwork for a full return. During a preview of its slate for fall 2024 through spring 2025, Nike also revealed a new Gore-Tex equipped version of the Air Max Sunder.

The Nike Air Max Sunder “Highlighter Pink” and “Highlighter Green” will both release August 8 through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $180.
