Nina Dobrev Says Her ‘Surgery Was a Success’ Following Recent Bike Injury

"I'm such a baby when it comes to needles, blood or procedures of any kind," the actress confessed before undergoing leg surgery

Nina Dobrev’s recovery from a bike accident is slowly improving!

More than two weeks after sharing she was involved in a biking accident, The Vampire Diaries alum shared that her recent surgery was a “success.”

In Dobrev’s latest health update, she shared in both an Instagram post and Stories that she was nervous about heading into surgery. She first posted three separate Instagram Stories, candidly sharing her perspective before the operation.

Dobrev has not disclosed any additional details about the accident or the exact injury and operation she endured.

In the first post, the 35-year-old actress was seen in a hospital gown with watery eyes, a frown, and a thumbs down, with text overlaid that read: “Anyone else get scared before surgery? I'm such a baby when it comes to needles, blood or procedures of any kind.”

The second Stories slide included Dobrev in the hospital bed covered in blankets with her injured leg poking out. “Had to get one last photo of my leg - pristine- before it's all scarred up,” read the text overlay.

The final and third slide was a video of Dobrev drawing on her leg before surgery, confirming that it is the correct limb to operate on.

“😳🫣. Fun fact: they make you draw on whatever extremity is being operated on to confirm that is the correct limb,” she wrote in the Stories’ text. “(Because I guess it's happened in the past that some surgeons have accidentally operated on the wrong limb. 🥶😅.) Yikes!!!”

After the surgery, The Perks of Being a Wallflower actress shared an update to her Instagram feed. She included a shot of her in the operating room, giving a thumbs up to the camera. Her second photo included a selfie of the teary-eyed actress looking directly at the camera.

“Surgery was a success 🫶🏼,” she began in the Instagram caption. “Thank you to everyone who has been sending kind messages, thoughts, prayers, and good vibes. I have been feeling the support and positive energy. It means more than you will ever know ❤️‍🩹.”

Several friends and fans flooded her comment section sharing their support for the actress. Her boyfriend Shaun White wrote, “WE ALL LOVE YOU.”

White, 37, has been by the actress’ side since the accident. She shared a series of photos on Instagram highlighting her recovery and a hilarious video of the Olympian cheering her up.

He was seen dancing in a white The Vampire Diaries sweater, which had her character Elena Gilbert's name embroidered in large, black letters with colorful outlines of her face.
