Nine dead in Kryvyi Rih air strike

The Russian military attacked Ukraine’s Kryvyi Rih with ballistic missiles on June 12, killing nine people and injuring 29.

Ukrainian military and civilian officials said one missile struck an apartment building in the city. The Prosecutor General’s Office reported that five children were among the injured.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed the deadly missile strike.

“Daily and hourly, Russian terror proves that Ukraine, together with its partners, must strengthen its air defense,” said Zelenskyy.

The president expressed his condolences to the families of those killed. He noted that all first responders were working at the site.

“Modern air defense systems can ensure maximum protection for people, our cities, and our positions; we urgently need them,” he added.
