Nine men under police investigation after Changi dormitory fight

SINGAPORE — The Singapore police are investigating a fight that took place in a dormitory along Tanah Merah Coast Road on Tuesday (17 January).

According to media reports, nine men between the ages of 24 and 54 are currently assisting the police in the investigation.

The fight reportedly started at around 10.38pm, but had ceased when officers arrived at the scene.

Media reports said that the police had established the the identities of the men involved via closed-circuit television images and follow-up investigations.

Videos of the fight have been shared across various online forums and social media, where several migrant workers can be seen brawling at a stairwell.

In the videos, other men can be seen gathering along the corridors, while some tried to intervene in the fight.

Investigations are currently ongoing.
