Lucy-Jo Hudson has turned to working in the travel industry when she doesn't have an acting job.

The former 'Coronation Street' and 'Hollyoaks' actress has admitted it is "not easy" working in show business, because actors can often be out of work for six months at a time.

During such times, Lucy-Jo has found a "side hustle", and hinted it is in the travel industry.

She wrote on Instagram: "In my industry, it's not easy.

"I could audition for 8 jobs and get none, yet I could fall into a job next week, or I might not work for 6 months!

"It's not easy but I continue to push as I love nothing more than acting!

"But while I'm in limbo, I have decided I need a side hustle. Something that will fit around the kids, that I can take on the road when I'm going to London for castings, something I can keep working on while I get an acting role I love.

"And I've found the perfect thing! Does anyone else fancy working from home earning an extra income? Watch this space! #LJsTravelClub."

Lucy-Jo is known for playing Donna-Marie Quinn in 'Hollyoaks'.

She has played the character on and off since her debut in the Channel 4 soap in 2018, and last appeared on 'Hollyoaks' in September.

Prior to her 'Oaks' days, Lucy-Jo starred as Corrie's Katy Harris from 2002 to 2005, and she also appeared in drama series 'Wild at Heart', and an episode of 'Casualty' in 2010.

In 2017, the actress won the Villain of the Year prize at the British Soap Awards for her portrayal of Rhiannon Davis in BBC daytime soap 'Doctors'.
