‘We have nothing in common!’ Aubrey Plaza and Jenna Ortega steal the show at the SAG Awards

Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza stole the show with their humorous joint appearance at The Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Ortega and Plaza have never worked together but are often compared because of their resemblance and the famously moody characters they play in their hit shows, Wednesday and The White Lotus, respectively.

On Sunday, the actresses appeared together on stage to present an award at the ceremony in Los Angeles where they addressed their similarities and jokingly claimed they have “nothing in common”.

“I don’t know why they paired us up together,” Plaza, 38, said, with Ortega, 20, adding deadpan: “Yeah, I know, we have nothing in common.”

“We should find the people who did this,” Plaza continued, with a straight face as the audience laughed.

Ortega agreed, adding: “And curse their families and watch as…”

The two then spoke in tandem as they continued: “... misfortune follows their bloodline for the next seven generations.”

Referring to their similarities, Plaza then admitted that she “sees it now” before the pair looked at each other in acknowledgement.

The amusing appearance was met with praise from viewers who took to Twitter to call for the pair to collaborate more in the future.

“Aubrey Plaza and Jenna Ortega being dark and moody together – love lol #SAGAwards,” one fan wrote.

Another tweeted: “Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza presenting together at the #SAGAwards is the best thing that’s happened in 2023 so far.”

A third commented: “Aubrey Plaza is Jenna Ortega’s long-lost mum. They need to star in a film or TV show together.”

“Whoever paired Aubrey Plaza and Jenna Ortega together deserves a raise #SAGAwards,” another waded in.

While a fifth said: “This was the collab we never knew we needed. Best bit of the show so far. I love Jenna and Aubrey.”
