A follow-up to 2018's The Nun (itself a prequel to The Conjuring movies), the film picks up with Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) as she seeks to destroy Valak (Bonnie Aarons), chasing the demon across Europe.

The film has received strong reviews, with several critics saying that it improves on the 2018 instalment.

Meanwhile, director Michael Chaves has recently explained how The Nun and The Conjuring films are linked after fans believed they had spotted a potential plot hole regarding the fate of Frenchie/Maurice (Jonas Bloquet).
