Oceane Zhu confirms departure from TVB

28 Oct - After seven years of working in TVB, former beauty queen and actress Oceane Zhu has decided not to renew her contract with the company.

As reported on Sina News, the actress recently posted a photo of her 2008 pageant crown online, saying, "Bye my doll house, bye my seven years of time. I have great sense of gratitude towards those I met in the past. A tres bientot, buddy (see you very soon)."

When asked if her recent post means that she is leaving the company, Oceane replied that she is, as her contract is expiring soon.

Rumours of her departure have sparked as early as August this year. The actress reportedly wasn't happy that the company decided to promote new generations of actresses such as Moon Lau, Grace Chan, and Sisley Choi, while she remained in supporting roles.

The actress, who graduated from Cours Florent, a private French drama school, was once nominated for Best New Performer at the Hong Kong Film Awards - a quality that TVB seemed to have missed throughout the seven years.
