The One Show pays emotional tribute to Dr Michael Mosley following death
The One Show paid an emotional tribute to the late Dr Michael Mosley following his passing.
The science presenter and journalist, who has appeared on the BBC show as well as This Morning, tragically passed away at the age of 67 after going missing on the Greek island of Symi following a hike.
Following the confirmation of his death yesterday (June 9), producers for The One Show paid tribute to the late doctor on Monday’s (June 10) episode, with hosts Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas reading a message at the beginning of the show.

“Good evening. We are starting tonight’s show with the sad news that we’ve lost a dear friend and colleague,” began Jones. “Dr Michael Mosley was part of the original line-up of The One Show reporters who made his first appearance in 2007, and he’s been a familiar presence ever since.”
A further tribute to the doctor was made later in the episode, with Jones introducing a video which saw several colleagues and members of the public reflect on their connection to Mosley as well as his work.
“His death has been felt by millions of people all around the world who regarded him as their doctor,” said Jones before the clip, which saw Mosley’s former The One Show colleague Dr Sarah Jarvis refer to him as “charming, funny and clever”.

Following the clip, Jones and Jenas were joined by Chris Van Tulleken and Hannah Fry, who had worked with Mosley on Trust Me, I’m a Doctor and Horizon respectively. The former, appearing via video link, described him as “kind, generous, gentle and humble”.
“He was one of the most important broadcasters of the last few decades,” he continued, with Fry adding: “I cannot tell you how many careers, both on and off screen, this man helped. He cemented them even further. He was exactly the same person both on and off the screen.”
