Only Murders' Selena Gomez announces social media break
Only Murders in the Building A-lister Selena Gomez has topped the charts as the most followed woman on Instagram.
However, despite having the "best fans" in the world, the Lose You to Love Me singer is stepping away from social media.
The star posted on Instagram yesterday (February 23) to tell her 382 million followers that she was taking a break from social media, with the post already receiving over 13 million likes from Selenators.

Selena's ascension knocked Kylie Jenner from the top spot, with the influencer having 380 million followers.
Selena shared an image of herself in a black dress with a drink in one hand and her ponytail in the other, and said: "I deleted this one time [the image] because I thought maybe it was too much, but eh (taking a break from social)."
Her Instagram post was followed by a TikTok Live, where she thanked her fans but divulged more details about her social media hiatus. Many have speculated she is stepping away after a TikTok user called out Kylie for mocking Selena on the platform, a feud both stars have disputed.
During the TikTok Live, Selena said: "I'm very happy, I'm so blessed. I have the best friends, the best fans in the whole world. I just couldn't be happier.

"I'm good; I love who I am. I don't care [about follower count]. I'm vague, I'm not – I don't care, I love who I am, and yeah, I'm going to be taking a second from social media because this is a little silly. I'm 30 and am too old for this."
Selena added: "But I love you so much, and I'll see you guys sooner than later. I'm just gonna take a break from everything."
The suspected internet rivalry was pointed out by a fan after Selena posted a video recently where she said she'd: "Laminated [her] eyebrows too much."
Shortly afterwards, Kylie shared a screengrab of a FaceTime call with Hailey Bieber, which fixated on their eyebrows.
Kylie said fans were "reaching" at nothing, with Selena herself commenting: "It's all unnecessary. I'm a fan of Kylie!"

It is unclear when the star will return to social media, but fans might be kept afloat with behind-the-scenes images from season three of the Disney+ show Only Murders in the Building.
Selena plays Mabel Mora in the murder mystery comedy-drama, with Steve Martin as Charles-Haden Savage and Martin Short as Oliver Putnam – a true crime podcast-loving trio who investigate suspicious deaths.
Season three of the show is already set to get fans' hearts racing, with both Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd confirmed.
