Onyx Cinema LED Screen comes to Atria, PJ

3 Jul – A brand new Samsung Onyx Cinema LED screen has been launched in Petaling Jaya as a new addition to the MBO Cinemas multiplex at Atria Shopping Gallery.

The hall that houses the screen promises ultra-sharp high definition with 4k resolution which supports High Dynamic Resolution (HDR) content, accurate colour presentation and distortion-free images.

Harman's JBL Surround Sound System is also equipped in the said Onyx hall for a more defining clarity of sound.

Speaking at the grand launch ceremony, MBO's Chief Executive Officer, Lim Eng Hee said, "We are committed to enabling a differentiated experience for moviegoers and for that, we have always looked into equipping our cinema halls with only the best of what technology, sound and visuals have to offer."

"On top of our signature concept halls such as the child-friendly KECIL and the eye-opening Big Screen, we are proud to partner with Samsung to introduce the Onyx Cinema LED technology at MBO Cinemas with our first hall in Atria Shopping Gallery," added Lim.

Mr. Yoonsoo Kim, President of Samsung Malaysia Electronics who was present at the event said, "This year, as our partnership with MBO Cinemas continues to expand, we look forward to bring the future of projector-less cinema screens to Malaysians. With Samsung's continuous innovation and vision to deliver immersive cinema experience, we want to showcase the best-in-class display standard for big screen picture quality and powerful multi-sensory movie viewing experience for all movie-goers."

The Onyx screen was launched with a screening of "Spider-Man: Far From Home", hence all the Spideys at the event!

For a limited time only, all Samsung Mobile App users get to enjoy a special 'Buy1Free1' promotion when they purchase a movie ticket for the Onyx hall at MBO Atria Shopping Gallery.

The MBO Cinemas in Atria Shopping Gallery currently offers a total of 8 screens including a Big Screen, Onyx hall and two Kecil halls. It seats a combined total of 1229 moviegoers.

MBO Atria also has Cafecito, a full-fledged coffeehouse themed concessions stand serving fancy beverages and light snacks as well as a mini playground area near the café for the little ones.
