Owen Wilson, Sissy Spacek & Schuyler Fisk To Star In Scripted Podcast ‘Tom Slick: Mystery Hunter’
EXCLUSIVE: Owen Wilson is to play Yeti hunter Tom Slick in a new scripted podcast that also stars the voice talent of Sissy Spacek and Schuyler Fisk.
The trio star in Tom Slick: Mystery Hunter, which comes from School of Humans and iHeartPodcasts.

The eight-part series, which launches on July 18, is based on the untold, mostly true tale of explorer, scientific legend and alleged spy, Tom Slick. It will chronicle the larger than life adventures of Slick in his steadfast pursuit of the unknown, culminating to his greatest and most mystifying expedition: his 1958 hunt for the Yeti.
Slick was a real person, an oil heir turned adventurer who went searching for the Yeti, Bigfoot and the Loch Ness monster.
Slick’s story will be told through hidden tapes found by his granddaughter, Liv Slick (Fisk) buried in her mother, Claire Slick’s (Spacek) attic. As they listen together, they will uncover stories inspired by actual events from Tom Slick’s life, which include the kidnapping of his stepfather by the infamous bank robber Machine Gun Kelly, a covert OSS operation, which was the predecessor to the CIA to stop a Nazi spy ring in Latin America, and his relentless hunt for the elusive Yeti.
Jeb Stuart (Die Hard) and Caroline Slaughter (Astray) wrote the series with Slaughter also directing and casting. Emilia Brock was producer and assistant director with Jesse Nighswonger as sound designer and composer.
It comes from School of Humans Audio Holdings, which is known for producing television series such as Dirty Jobs. It launched its audio division with true-crime podcast Hell and Gone and is also behind Astray, Racket and Unreformed: The Story of the Alabama Industrial School for Negro Children.
