Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's new reality show isn't a “Simple Life ”reboot
Sanasa, sanasa...
Loves it.
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are reuniting for a new reality series 17 years after The Simple Life, but don't expect it to be a reboot.
"It’s been 20 years since Paris and I worked together," Richie said during an appearance on Good Morning America on Wednesday, where she denied reboot speculation. "We wanted to celebrate that. I can’t tell you too much right now, but we’ve worked together to create something very special and exciting. I can’t wait for it to come out.”
The Simple Life followed the two wealthy socialites as they left behind their trust funds and struggled to work low-paying jobs, including serving meals at fast food joints and milking cows at a dairy farm. It ran for five seasons between 2003 and 2007 on E! and Fox.

Hilton first teased the new project with Richie, debuting on Peacock, earlier this month, sharing a brief clip that featured a fuzzy TV screen with heavy static. Then, music: the sound of Hilton and Richie singing "sanasa, sanasa," their signature song from The Simple Life. "New era, same besties," Hilton captioned the post, teasing that the mystery project would be coming soon to Peacock.

Richie previously shut down the possibility of a reboot of her original reality series with Hilton, telling Entertainment Weekly back in 2020 that the concept simply wouldn't work in this day and age. "We'd leave our lives for a month, and we didn't have any phones," Richie said. "We're almost 40 years old, and I can't imagine leaving my kids. We've got real jobs now. We were 20 or 21 when we did it."
Since the show wrapped, Richie wed Joel Madden in 2010, while Hilton married Carter Reum in 2021. Hilton and Richie each have two children with their respective partners.

Hilton most recently collaborated with Peacock for her two-season reality series Paris in Love, which chronicled her engagement to Reum and the birth of her first child, son Phoenix. She also recently headlined Netflix's Cooking with Paris. Richie's recent credits include the Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead remake and Good Burger 2.
