Paris Hilton Teases 'Iconic' Reboot of “The Simple Life” with 'Best Friend' Nicole Richie

The stars are teaming up again more than two decades after their hit reality series

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie have a lot in store for fans as they return to The Simple Life.

In May, PEOPLE learned that the real-life best friends are reuniting for a new reality TV series 16 years after their original show concluded.

Hilton, 43, teased that the reboot is "going to be so iconic" as she expressed her excitement to be working with Richie, 42, again on "such a special show."

"I'm so excited to be doing with this Nicole on Peacock. Nicole has been my best friend since we're 2 years old, every memory that I have is with her," Hilton told E! News. "I can't wait for fans to see."

The stars have been teasing fans about what's to come with the new reality show since it was announced last month.

In a joint post on Instagram, they shared a clip of a vintage-looking television filled with static, writing in the caption, "New Era. Same Besties. 👯‍♀️ Coming soon to Peacock."

The comments were filled with excitement from fans and fellow stars, including Jersey Shore's Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, who wrote, "STAHPPPPPPPP,"

It's "the show that started it all" as Hilton said in a December post marking the 20th anniversary of the premiere.

"Filming this series with @NicoleRichie was one of the most special, hilarious and iconic times in my life.🥰," she wrote. "I'm so lucky to have these amazing memories!! 💕."

The girls are excited, but Lionel Richie joked that fans will need to "hang on to [their] seat" as the reboot gets underway.

“They're older but they haven't changed, trust me. Let me tell you something, those two scare me just standing next to each other," he told Entertainment Tonight.

"I don't know if the world knows this, [but] they started this mess and I was the first guinea pig daddy to go along with this."

Nicole recently got another family opinion on the show, as she told Variety that her kids aren't exactly the biggest fans of The Simple Life.

"The Simple Life is apparently having a big moment on TikTok, so they do tell me that they watch clips on TikTok," Richie said of her daughter Harlow, 16, and son Sparrow, 14, who she shares with Joel Madden. "Their friends watch it. I get a lot of eye rolls in my house all the time. It's right on brand with how they see me, in general."
