Park in a Blank Space or face fine, Swifties told
Swifties are being warned they better find a Blank Space to park in or face being hit with a fine.
Cardiff council has warned of a Cruel Summer for anyone caught flouting the rules and it comes after almost 450 penalty charge notices (PCNs) were issued on the day of the Pink concert.
travel advice has been issued ahead of Tuesday's gig at the Principality Stadium, where the majority of roads around the city centre will be closed.
Anyone who parks within the road closure area faces having their car removed on safety grounds.
Data from Cardiff council shows 444 PCNs were issued on 11 June, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
The local authority said it received 109 reports about people parking incorrectly across 11 and 12 June.
On Tuesday night, pictures emerged on social media showing cars parked on pavements and grass verges on and near Taff Embankment, close to the stadium.
While the Taff Embankment is not included within the road closures for the Taylor Swift gig, residents in the area called the issue "frustrating" and "selfish".
Not everyone on the road saw the same issues but residents there did say parking can sometimes be an issue.
"I have always been quite fortunate," said Jayne Stitfall about the parking situation on Taff Embankment.
"There have been one or two occasions but I don’t see what you can do."
There is a mix of permit and non-permit parking on Taff Embankment.
Ms Stitfall, 65, said she would not want people to be discouraged from visiting the city centre, Cardiff Bay or Grangetown.
However, she said the parking situation could sometimes be "very inconvenient".
Another resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "We get problems sometimes, during the rugby, but there were no problems this week.
"It may be an issue further up but... not here."
The council said the number of people park illegally during large events appeared to increase.
It issued 384 PCNs on 6 June last year when Coldplay played one of two gigs at the Principality Stadium.
At the time, the council said it tended to issue about 200 on a normal weekday.
