Patrick Brammall To Star In ‘The Dispatcher’ Series For Apple

Patrick Brammall, co-creator and star of breakout Australian comedy Colin from Accounts, is swapping laughs for a white-knuckle thriller.

Brammall is starring in a series adaptation of Ryan David Jahn’s book The Dispatcher for Apple TV+. The six-part series comes from Kris Mrksa (The Murders At White House Farm).

Brammall will play police detective Ian Hunt, whose life fell apart ten years ago when his young daughter Maggie disappeared without a trace. Now working as a police dispatcher, the only thing that has kept him going is his implacable refusal to accept that she might be gone forever. When he receives a distress call from a young girl he is certain is Maggie, he will stop at nothing to find her and reunite his broken family, whatever the cost.

The series is executive produced by Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta at 60Forty Films, with executive producers Kris Mrksa and Joanna Werner at Werner Film Productions.

The book, which was published in 2011, is set in East Texas and features a bullet-strewn cross-country chase from Texas to California along Interstate 10- a wild ride in a 1965 Mustang that passes through the outlaw territory of No Country for Old Men.

In addition to Colin From Accounts, which airs on Paramount+ in the U.S. and has been renewed for a third season, Brammall stars in Paramount+’s Evil. He also starred in Australian series No Activity, which was later adapted for CBS and starred in The Moodys.

He is represented by Atlas Artists, UTA, Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern, and RGM Artists in Australia.
