PC download charts: 'ARK: Survival Evolved,' 'Hot Date'
A dinosaur-era survival challenge and a dating sim that matches you up with a pet pug feature are among the top PC retail downloads come Monday, June 8.
It's perfect timing for "ARK: Survival Evolved," which arrives just as "Jurassic World" prepares to hit cinemas, and players are pleased enough with the Early Access title's progress so far, giving it an aggregate rating of "very positive" on Steam.
Dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes roam a mysterious island, on which the player -- well, hundreds of players -- find themselves stranded.
Items and equipment can be found or crafted, wild beasts can be fought and tamed, and players can band together to construct the beginnings of a new society.
Released on June 2 via Steam, "ARK: Survival Evolved" is also heading to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later on.
On Itch.io, an unusual puppy-oriented title enjoys a season of great popularity.
The pay-what-you-want "Hot Date" features a series of pugs that the player can 'speed date', finding out about their personalities, likes and dislikes, choosing from a list of questions to make small talk or maybe find a deeper soul connection with a culturally-engaged household pet.
